VÁNDORÚTON
From home to home

First performance: 14 May 2013.
Director-choreographer.
With our ancestors and descendants we are all one, part of Life, this great cycle in which birth and death follow each other in a natural order. Nature is insensitive, we fill it with emotions: joy and sorrow, laughter, tears ... and life goes on. Meanwhile, we walk the paths, searching for our place in the world.

We all wonder sometimes about life, about the meaning of life, a perennial theme in all branches of art. This is what director and choreographer Gábor Szűcs explores in his new show entitled "On the Road", stopping for a dance at a key point in our lives, from birth to death. Or rather, until rebirth.

Our culture lives with us, in us. We inherit it, nurture it and pass it on to our descendants.

Throughout the show, dances from different regions of the world come to life on stage. Felcsík, Jászság, Nyírség, Szilágyság, Kalotaszeg, Bonchida, Mezőkölpény, Vajdaszentivány are presented one after the other. We are different, yet so similar. Our feelings and thoughts are similar, and even though our customs and dances are sometimes very different in their details, we recognise them as ours, equally part of our common heritage.

This show entertains while it makes you think.

The premiere on Tuesday 14 May will be followed by a second performance on Saturday 18 May, the Saturday of Pentecost, both at 7pm.
