"It's as true as you believe!"

"That's the greatest disease of mankind, that's what's ruining everybody. At this time a man is not even at home, and he is so sensible as to wonder whether his slippers are exposed, so that I may not bring dirt into the house. The stress situation is already running high. Didn't we build this house to have a place to live? I used to say, build a ten-storey house, no elevator, no stairs, so that the spasm would drag you upstairs." (Liar Pista )

The performance will give an insight into the dance and music culture of the Gheorgheni Basin, which is less known in terms of dance folklore. In contrast to the areas 'picked up' by collectors, the mapping of these villages along the Mures has been neglected. From the 1950s until the 1920s, hardly any collections of 3 to 4 dances were made in the basin, although the early collections of Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály and Antal Molnár draw attention to the characteristic, ancient melodies and instrumental music of Gheorgheni, and the dances based on these...

From the early 2000s, the filmmakers went from village to village, making functional and staged film recordings in the settlements of the basin, finding more and more valuable dance personalities, singers and musicians. Using these, the earlier collections, the unavoidable and unrepeatable stories of Pista the Liar, the performance was staged, which enchants the audience with modern visuals and stage technology, with movements, songs, instrumental arrangements and stories never seen before.

In addition to the traditional dances and songs of the region, the show also includes newer styles of early civilization and the influence of Székely dance teachers, acknowledging their importance, their justification and folkloristic value.
The atmosphere, taste and flavour of the Gheorgheni Basin fascinated the creators as much as the power, energy and jewel of the dances and songs of the locals...
