The Assembly of Transylvanian Folk Violinists serves the exploration and gathering of our folk traditions. Year after year the event took place in sold-out theatre halls while it has also become a prestigious gathering in professional circles. Originally the event had a double purpose. On the one hand, it offered the opportunity for the creation of high quality sound registrations with the informants, while on the other, it was also the occasion to present them to the public popularizing their music. Since then we have also added to our goals with the occasion for young talented musicians and successful folk music bands to showcase their work while also serving as an excellent opportunity to meet and play together with famous elder musicians.
